What are 00800 numbers?
UIFN is an abbreviation for Universal International Freephone Number, often known as Universal Toll-Free Number. Except for a few minor differences and limitations, UIFN numbers function similarly to virtual phone number services. There are variances in dialing prefixes depending on the country from where the calls are made.
The following are the requirements for obtaining a UIFN in 2022:
- A UIFN number must be registered in at least two different countries
- A UIFN number must be used in two or more registered countries within 180 days of being reserved
- A one-time registration fee is required for UIFN numbers
How do Universal Toll-Free numbers work?
The “00800” prefix is followed by 8 digits in Universal Toll-Free numbers. Each country has its own three-digit international access code that must be dialed in order to connect to a UIFN number. For example, the UIFN format for a UK caller would be (00) +800 XXXX-XXXX.
How much do 00800 numbers cost?
At Message To The Moon, you only pay €45 per month to activate a UIFN number in the first country of choice. Choose from one of the numbers in our stock below. Message To The Moon will make sure the number is active in the selected country today. Depending on the additional countries in which you want the number to be active, the number will be active in these countries within 2 to 8 weeks.
Step 2: activate the 00800 number per country or per continent
The 00800 number is only reachable from activated countries. You can indicate in which countries you want to be reachable and Message To The Moon will make sure they are activated. Step 3: Optional Online Telephone Exchange (PBX)
Message To The Moon will set up your online telephone exchange (IVR; interactive voice response) for you. This allows us to provide a welcome text in several languages so the caller is welcomed in his own language. Subsequently, the caller can be directly forwarded to the right employee who understands this language. In addition, we can set up call queues and create selection menus for you, to give just one example. The support engineer will contact you after your order to set this up free of charge.

VoIP Trunk
You can also choose to connect your 00800 number to VoIP Trunk (SIP Trunk) lines. These are software-based phone lines that are located in the Cloud. So you call via the Internet.
